I currently work at Snapchat Research as a Research Scientist. Prior to joining Snapchat, I was a Research Staff Member at NEC Labs America. I obtained my Ph.D. from University of Missouri in Electrical and Computer Engineering in year 2012. At the same time, I obtained my MA. degree in Statistics from University of Missouri. I did one intern at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and two at NEC Labs America. Before joining University of Missouri, I was a RA in department of Electrical Engineering and Information Science in University of Science and Technology of China from year 2006 to 2008. I was leading the R&D of the wireless video surveillance system at a startup company CREARO from year 2005 to 2008. I received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Information Science from University of Science and Technology of China in 2006. [CV]

Research Interest

Computer vision with specific interests in object detection in autonomous driving, generic object detection; large scale image/video search, face related technologies (detection, recognition, age/gender recognition, etc); machine learning with specific interests in deep learning, boosting and multiple instance learning.

Internship Opportunities

I typically take 1-3 interns a year. If you are interested in doing an internship under my supervision, please contact me by email.
